Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller to cover maternity leave. The role will involve overseeing financial operations for KOREC Group. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with experience in preparing accounts and managing a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Management Accounts: Preparation monthly management accounts for 2 group companies and quarterly accounts for 3 others.

• VAT Returns: Oversee VAT returns for both the UK and Ireland. Supervision and review will be required to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Customs Reconciliations: Ensure customs reconciliation processes are maintained and accurate.

• Annual Accounts & Audits: Liaise with auditors for the preparation of annual accounts

• Bank Account Management: Manage bank accounts and ensure payment reconciliations are up to date.

• Stock Analysis: Conduct stock analysis for the business, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.

• Fixed Asset Reconciliations: Manage and reconcile fixed assets, including hire fleet assets in the UK and Ireland.

• Team Supervision: Supervise the Accounts Assistant and Purchase Ledger person, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any issues.

• Nominal Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the nominal ledger and resolve any issues with codes or batches.

• Ad-hoc Projects: Undertake additional projects as required by the Group Finance Director.

• Annual Budgets: Involvement in the budgeting process

• Insurance Claims: Handle insurance claims as required.

• Payroll: Manage some monthly payroll functions.

Key Requirements

• Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)

• Experience: Extensive experience in preparing management accounts and financial reporting for a group of companies.

• Team Management: Experience supervising junior staff members, such as accounts assistants and purchase ledger personnel.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of VAT, customs reconciliations, fixed assets, and annual accounting processes.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
