KOREC Group is a leading provider of geospatial measurement solutions, surveying equipment, and mapping systems for the geospatial, engineering, and construction sectors in the UK and Ireland. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team and contribute to the efficient running of the department.
Role Overview:
As an Accounts Assistant at KOREC Group, you will be responsible for supporting various financial processes, ensuring the smooth operation of the accounts function, and assisting with monthly management accounts. You will be working closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Process purchase ledger invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Reconcile supplier statements and assist with preparing main supplier payments.
• Perform bank postings and prepare bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Assist in the preparation of VAT, Intrastat, and VIES returns, liaising with HMRC and other tax authorities.
• Provide support with reconciliations of sales ledger and sales invoice processing.
• Manage petty cash, ensuring proper records are kept.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including working with multi-currency transactions.
• Conduct various reconciliations and provide analysis of fixed assets and the hire fleet.
• Support regular stock-takes and ensure compliance with stock-taking procedures.
• Maintain the accuracy of accounting systems and financial data.
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for reporting and analysis purposes.
• Perform ad-hoc reporting as required by management.
Skills & Experience
• Strong experience in purchase ledger invoice processing and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with bank postings, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
• Previous experience in VAT, Intrastat, and VIES returns preparation.
• Ability to assist with multi-currency management and monthly management accounts.
• Experience with managing petty cash and supporting stock-takes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Qualifications:
AAT qualified or studying towards AAT qualification is desirable.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
