About Us

At K-MATIC, we empower enterprises with next-generation software solutions that unlock the full potential of geospatial data. Our cutting-edge cloud platform, Soarvo (www.soarvo.com), will commercially launch in early 2025, and we’re on a mission to become a market leader in the UK and Ireland — with plans to expand globally. To achieve this ambitious goal, we’re looking for top-tier talent to join our growing team.

As part of this transformation, we are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to lead and manage our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role will play a key part in delivering scalable and secure applications by leveraging AWS services to design, implement, and optimize infrastructure. You’ll collaborate closely with software development, technical leads, product managers, the COO, and security teams to ensure smooth cloud operations.

Why Join Us?

Location: Dublin, Ireland / North-West UK (Liverpool)

This role is based in Dublin, Ireland, and will involve virtual collaboration with the team and occasional in-person meetings in our Dublin or Liverpool offices. We welcome candidates from across Ireland, provided they can occasionally commute to Dublin as needed. The second preferred location is North-West UK (Liverpool), as this is where the rest of the team is located.

• Containerization & Orchestration: Manage containerization with Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Amazon EKS.

• Security: Implement robust security practices, including encryption of data at rest and in transit.

• Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to system performance, scalability, and security.

• Collaboration: Work alongside development teams to improve the performance and reliability of services.

• Disaster Recovery & Compliance: Design and implement disaster recovery and failover strategies while ensuring compliance with best practices in DevOps, cloud architecture, and security.

• Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, continuously improving systems and processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in software development and AWS infrastructure management.

• AWS Expertise: Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS, and CloudFront.

• Infrastructure-as-Code: Proficiency with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

• CI/CD Tools: Proven experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, AWS CodePipeline).

• Containerization & Orchestration: Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes or Amazon EKS.

• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Networking & Security: Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC, DNS, VPN) and cloud security best practices.

• Monitoring & Logging: Experience with AWS monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus) and logging systems (e.g., ELK Stack).

• Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
